A new post you say?

Its true...Im blogging again.
This one will be short but sweet. Just wanted to let you all know that the updates on the book, and book writing in general will be severely slowed because Im finished with school. Thus meaning i must return my laptop to them, halting me from being able to type everything out. I will continue to write when i get stroked of genius, it will just have to be in a private hidden notebook.
I also wanted to say I came across another new book series call House of Night by P.C. Cast. Again, its about vampires and magic and all the other worldy things im addicted too but it has a way of sticking out in the crowd. This particular series, though it can be cliche, cheesy, and kinda dorky at times, also tests the boundries of tradition Vamp lore and really makes you think. You should check them out sometime. The series is slow starting with the book Marked but picks up in the next one.
Also, I have entered a few new characters into the mix of my book but and made some marginal progress with chapters six and seven. Because these to chapters are the build up/bridge chapters before all the action they are proving to be the hardest to get out!
Thats all for now =]

Hiatus

I know I have been terrible, not only about keeping up with posts but also with writing in general. I have decided to take a small hiatus from my book until February. For many reasons such as My big brother Matt =] Is FINALLY home from afghanistan and we will be spending the holidays with him in a mere 5 days! Then december 29th I will be going in for surgery to have my wisdom teeth removed (insert celibratory applause here). After all this happens my Uncle Rob will be leaving for 7 weeks the the National Guard for some new training and I offered to go stay with my Aunt Robin (I know Robin and Rob, its like "his and hers" towels lol) to help her with the kids and maintaining the house (and working towards loosing the winter pounds that are steadily being packed on =/.
After all of this happens I will be jumping back into my book head first.
As for now, everyone enjoy your holidays!

For Shame Part 2: Revenge of the Distractions

I did it again...
I let myself get all distracted with the holidays and have barely done anything on my book.
Its really annoying but today i did finish ALL holiday decorations and caught up on my school work. Which means MORE BOOK TIME.
Woo
And so, to keep this post short and sweet, off to my book.

Powering Through

So my brother brought a good point to my mind the other day when i was mopeing about not being able to move forward with my book. He reminded me that I work best under pressure with deadlines and goals.
So here's the plan!! I am giving my self some goals and some deadlines!
My GOAL is to complete at least one chapter (without revisions or corrections) every two weeks.
My DEADLINE is having one chapter (with out revisions) completed every THREE weeks.
Now the difference between the two is my Goals are when I'd preferto finish a chapter, my Deadlines are when i need to.
This is when self discipline comes in. When I miss a goal, nothing happens. When i miss a deadline I punish myself in some form. We're talking sit ups, push ups, running... maybe even forcing myself to sit through the spongebob movie....

Yikes!

Mojo is a No-Go

I seem to have lost a bit of my drive and mojo for my book. Mostly due to my ability to be easily distracted and the fact that I need music to fuel my writing and I have heard every song on my Ipod a billion times.
Solution?
Im going to power through it. Im just gonna write, even if I dont like what Im writing, and then I can always go back and change it.

In different news, tying into my distractions, ideas for two new books have sprung into my head.
One of them will be native american legend based and it will be as acuratly tied to the Cherokee tribe I am desendant from as I can get it.
The second book will be out of usual genre for my imaginations. No myths, no magic. Shocking I know, but it will be about something I am incredibly pasionate about. Dancing. There is a particular dancer-who-shall-remain-nameless who's amazing choreography and goof-ball personality that was the main inpiration for this book. It will revolve intirely around music's part in song and dance and life all around.

However I am aware that before I jump into a new project I need to finish the first one, and so I bid you adue as I run of to rejoin my imagination with Damon and Andie.

Kat and Roxie's Excellent (telephone) Adventures!

So Roxann and i have discovered that when we talk to each other crazy things happend. Such things as: The Happy Dance, Book ideas flowing with extraodinary speed, plots to seduce a celebrity who shall remain nameless, and even more book ideas.
(disclaimer: do not try the happy dance unless you are prepaired to hurt yourself.)
I now have almost everything I need to know exactly how to write my book up with perfect flow.
And!!! I have written a pivotol scene for book one that will soon be plugged right into chapter 7 or 8, depending on how those chapters go.
And now! im off to write.
